Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hardcourt
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his first trophy for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The Russian, a former number one, has had a torrid season, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in specific - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-time coach his previous coach.
Now working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface from that period of 2023.
The win also indicates Medvedev has secured twenty-one victories at 21 distinct competitions.
"For the first time I have attended a competition with my children together, so to get a title is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, including in that event in the past months.
His retrieving strategy and frequent reactions on the playing surface had led commentators to doubt if his ability to compete at the top level was finished.
Yet the athlete has made changes in the past month, attempting to come to the net and play assertively, reinforced by an enhanced service.
Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging opponent, securing 4 of the last five points to gain the advantage.
Both players swapped service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden tour championship, gained dominance to push for a final set.
He saved 4 early-game opportunities in a tight deciding set before the Russian broke to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, Medvedev earned the title with a rally at the net area, with Moutet unable to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
